FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS:
Harry is a young, handsome, friendly, and well-behaved, medium energy dog. He might be a shepherd/hound/terrier mix. He is child and dog friendly. He is not good with cats since he wants to lunge and chase them.  Harry is doing a great job working on his housetraining and is very close to achieving this goal. He has been learning to sit as well. Harry does not seem to have been exposed to a crate much in the past and is happiest sleeping in bed or on the floor next to his humans. He is a great bed partner, laying still in one spot all night, checking in if he hears a noise, and then settling right back down for more rest.
Harry has been learning to be happy in the crate during the day while his foster family is at work and school. Harry enjoys chilling out and relaxing on the sofa, happily resting with his head on your knee or laying at (on) your feet. He follows his family room to room as they go about daily business in the house, loves to play energetic games of chase and tag with his foster dog sister, and is pretty good on a leash.
Harry will need some reminding not to jump up to explore good smells on kitchen counters. He does not show interest in chewing furniture or any other inappropriate items in the house, but loves a good dog bone. Sometimes Harry cowers at loud noises or fast movements but is quickly reassured. Like his namesake (can you guess, yup, Harry Potter!), he has a lightning bolt scar on his forehead, suggesting a bit of a rough past, but Harry remains brave, resilient, and kind. Theres no doubt this sweet boy will be a loyal and loving companion to his family!
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Harry was surrendered to a shelter because another dog in the family didn't like Harry.  So instead of working on this, the family just discarded Harry.  How sad.  The shelter was already full so they contacted BFPA to see if we could find another home for Harry.  We gladly took him into our rescue.  He is now looking for a true forever home.
