FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS:   Louie is friendly but timid.  He is shy but warms up with time.  The more time he is with his human, the friendlier he gets.  Louie likes other dogs.  We would recommend a dog-friendly dog (one thats not prone to any dog aggression), to foster Louies self-esteem.   Louie would also do well as an only dog.
Louie is good with cats.  We consider him gently curious towards dog-friendly cats. Louie has not yet been around children.  We would  recommend older children that understand how to be gentle with Louie. Louie is quiet but does occasionally bark.  Hell let you know if someone is coming into the yard, etc.
Louie is not totally housebroken yet but we are working hard toward that goal.  When crated,  Louie can go 8-plus hours without needing a bathroom break. Louie is crate trained and is quiet in his crate.  When he is roaming in the house (with supervision), Louie should be taken out every 3-4 hours after his last bathroom break.
Louie is a low energy puppy.  Louie likes to sit or lay on the couch or the bed.
Louie sleeps in a human bed, as long as he has gone potty shortly before lights-out.  Sometimes he is crated at night.  The crate is located in an occupied bedroom.

Louie does walk on a leash but can be timid/slow.   Louie is a cuddler that enjoys a good head, ear, neck massage.  He is learning to play.  Louie knows what is meant by come here, but shows trepidation to follow through

treats help.

Louie is super cute, likes to cuddle, and likes be taken care of.  Hell be a great companion dog to a household that is sensitive to his shy nature.  He would do best in a quiet home.
Louie has had a rough start in life and is learning to trust people.  He would be best with a family that is sensitive to that.
With extra effort and consistent training, Louie could emerge to be a mildly outgoing dog, otherwise, he may remain his sweet-shy self.  Do you have what it takes to make Louie the best dog he can be? Please consider making Louie a part of you family.  You will be rewarded by the best cuddles a dog can give!
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Louie and his sibling were rescued by a kind person.  They both developed Parvo, a disease which can be deadly for puppies. Unfortunately, Louie's sibling lost his battle against this disease but Louie fought hard to live.  BFPA helped his rescuer and admitted this sick puppy and saw him through recovery.  He is now healthy and learning to enjoy life.  He may have been abused prior to rescue so he needs to build up his trust in people.
