FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Scallop is a fun loving puppy with loads of personality already!  She is feisty, curious and is guaranteed to make you smile.  She loves to be cuddled and loves to play.  Scallop is part of the Potato Gang!
Her Mother only weighs 15 pounds but the father is unknown. Scallop is primarily black with white but also has brindle markings. She is adorable and watching her grow up will be a wonderful experience.
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Scallop's Mom is a possible Australian Shepherd stray who was taken in by a family.  They discovered the stray was pregnant and had five puppies including Scallop.  A BFPA volunteer welcomed all the puppies into her home and they are now part of the BFPA family.  Scallop is looking for her own forever family and will be ready to go on an adoption trial by the end of March.

ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are sometimes an issue.  Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home.

PLEASE NOTE: SCALLOP  has only had one set of vaccines so if a trial adoption begins before the second set of vaccines (around mid-April), the potential adopters will have to keep her in their home and yard to minimize the risk of exposure to germs.   Interaction with unknown dogs at pet stores, doggie day care, dog parks, apartment dog areas and any public place where other dogs may frequent should be avoided during this time.
