FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: What a great dog Toby is!  He is very friendly toward people, dogs and he even gets along with the cats in our home.  We don't know how he will be with very young children since he is still teething but would be fine with older ones.  
Toby is house trained but still needs to be taken outside on a regular basis.  He sleep in a crate all night without any accidents.  Toby doesn't mind being crated and is mostly a very quiet boy. 
He is pretty mellow for a puppy.  Toby would probably like a fenced yard but as long as he has enough exercise in his life, he will be fine with nice walks.  He is not used to being on a leash much but since he is walked with other dogs often, he is getting used to it more every day.  
Toby will do best in a home with at least one other dog.  He likes the companionship of another dog and may not adjust to be an only dog. He may do OK if someone works from home so that he is not alone all day. 
Toby is a very easy, loving and laid back puppy. He is healthy and playful but after a fun time playing in the fenced yard, he then loves to nap.  He is learning really quickly and wants to please; he responds well to commands.  He can't resist a belly rub and you only have to look at him for him to lie down and put his legs in the air for a scratch!  He's great with other dogs and cats too.
Please consider making Toby part of your family.  You won't be disappointed!  
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Toby was an owner surrender at a very full shelter.  The shelter wanted a rescue group to take him and BFPA was more than willing to help this guy find his forever home.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
